We could not be happier with the functionality, durability and look of our new metal roof. We’ve already gotten numerous compliments on it and have seen first-hand how it easily sheds snow! As for some of the heavy, torrential rains we’ve gotten, the roof is no noisier than our old roof.

Review from the Homeowner

My wife and I had been contemplating having a metal roof installed when the time came that it needed to be done. Friends of ours had theirs done in the early summer of 2022 by East Coast Metal Roofing. It came out great and looked fantastic. We were sold at that point and knew it was only a matter of time. We’d hoped to wait until early 2024 but some of the storms and associated winds in November and December of 2022 moved up our timeline as we were losing old asphalt shingles. We reached out to East Coast Metal Roofing in early December and quickly had an appointment with Andrew Bousquet , Project Specialist, set up for December 10th. We knew and were fully aware that a metal roof was going to be more expensive than a traditional asphalt shingle roof. However, knowing a traditional roof would last approximately 20 years before requiring replacement again (at a likely higher replacement cost than today’s prices); a metal roof was a sound investment. It would outlast multiple traditional roof replacements and save us future replacement costs at a time when we’ll most likely be living on our retirement income. Andrew was prompt and arrived on schedule for our appointment. He did a walk around of the property and obtained measurements of the roof. He brought with him samples of the metal roofing shingles, underlayment etc… and explained how the process of installing the roofing system would progress. We also opted for new gutters and downspouts to accommodate the faster rate at which a metal roof sheds rainfall. Andrew went over all of the project specifications (placement of underlayment, ice & water shield, snow guards, flashing around the chimney and other roof penetrations etc…) as well as a detailed breakdown of costs. Again, while it was fairly pricey, you do get what you’re paying for and it IS an investment in your biggest asset, your home. We received, (as promised) updates from ECMR as to when the project was scheduled to begin (weather permitting), when the dumpster and materials would be delivered. As scheduled, the dumpster was delivered and within a day the crew arrived to begin stripping off the old roof and prepping for the new one. They worked diligently and were quite meticulous about protecting the house from and picking up any debris from the roof stripping and new roof installation. All of the crew were quite friendly and went about the work professionally. The Quality Control Manager, Sean Azarbin, arrived on day one and checked on the progress of the job and quality of the installation. He asked if we had any questions or concerns and left his business card should we have any as the install progressed. The installation progressed quickly and was completed on the second day. The crew left everything picked up and very neat when they finished. Extra building materials (underlayment, ice & water shield etc…) were left neatly piled at the rear of the driveway for pick up by ECMR on the following day. ECMR notified the dumpster vendor that the job was complete and scheduled the dumpster pick up for the next day too. We could not be happier with the functionality, durability and look of our new metal roof. We’ve already gotten numerous compliments on it and have seen first-hand how it easily sheds snow! As for some of the heavy, torrential rains we’ve gotten, the roof is no noisier than our old roof. If you’re on the fence about having a metal roof installed, you owe it to yourself to ask for information and a quote. If you’re seriously considering one, go with East Coast Metal Roofing. We do highly recommend a metal roof installation by East Coast Metal Roofing. The advantage of a superior, long lasting and maintenance free roof is well worth the investment in today’s dollars versus several roof replacements decades in the future. You will not regret it!
